Dendrocalamus longispathus

20 മീറ്റർ വരെ ഉയരത്തിൽ വളരുന്ന ഒരു മുളയാണ് ഡെൻഡ്രോകലാമസ് ലോംഗിസ്പാത്തസ്. ഇത് ബംഗ്ലാദേശ്, മ്യാൻമർ, തായ്ലൻഡ് എന്നിവയാണ്. ഇത് ഇപ്പോൾ ദക്ഷിണേഷ്യയിലുടനീളം ഒരു വിദേശ ഇനമായി മാറിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

Local Name: Rupai (Tripura),Khang (Bengali)

Uses: Handicrafts, thatching, basket making, kites, chicks for doors, house posts and mat making, floats for timber and rafts, edible shoots.

Distribution: Bihar, Bangladesh, Myanmar , West Bengal, Eastern India(Assam, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura), Bangladesh and Myanmar.

Altitude- 400-500 m

Soil type- Fertile loamy soils common near streams

Climatic condition- It prefers a tropical humid climate.
